VIGuides has no insider and no scoop. Everything on this site is either something Rockstar Games or Take-Two said in public, or something a named outlet reported with a date and a link. This page explains how we tell those two apart, what we refuse to publish, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Every claim here carries one of four labels
Nothing on this site sits between them.
Confirmed: Rockstar Games or Take-Two said it in public, or it stands on an official store or ratings page.
Reported: a named outlet published it, with a date and a link you can open yourself.
Unconfirmed: people expect it, nobody official has said it, and we say so in the same sentence.
Corrected: we had it wrong, we changed it, and the change is in the public update log.
Confirmed, reported, unconfirmed and corrected. Those four words appear on the answer pages themselves, not only here.
What counts as confirmed
A fact gets the confirmed label only if it comes from one of five places: the Rockstar Games newswire or official site, Take-Two investor material, the official PlayStation or Xbox store page, a ratings board such as ESRB, PEGI, USK or the Australian Classification Board, or an official Rockstar video.
If a claim is not in one of those five places, it does not get the label, no matter how many sites repeat it. A number that everyone quotes and nobody sourced is still unconfirmed.
What counts as reported
Reported means a named outlet published it. We write the outlet name into the text, link the article and give the date. You will not find the phrase sources say on this site without a name attached to it.
A reported fact can still be wrong. Two outlets quoting each other are one source, not two, and where that is the case we say so on the page.
What never appears here
Leaked video, code or documents, including anything from the 2022 breach.
Datamined files and anything pulled out of a build.
Cheat codes, because the game is not out and every list published today is invented.
A complete map before launch day.
Screenshots, artwork, music or logos taken from the game.
Part of that is a legal line and part of it is an editorial one. Leaked material is not ours to publish, and it turns out wrong often enough that a page built on it ages badly.
When we get it wrong
Write to us and we fix it. Corrections go into the public update log with their date, so you can see what changed and when. We do not quietly edit a page and leave the old date standing.
Every page carries the day it was last reviewed, visibly in the text and again in its structured data. Where a page has not been touched for a while, you can see that too.

VIGuides is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.
No publisher, retailer or platform pays for coverage here. There are no affiliate links and no sponsored pages: every outbound link on this site is a plain nofollow link to a source, and we earn nothing when you follow one.
Editorial decisions, including which pages exist and what counts as a source, are made independently by the same people who build and maintain the site. No outside party has a say in what is published here.
How to check us
Every answer page ends with its sources. Every claim that is not confirmed says so on the spot, in the same paragraph rather than in a footnote. Every page shows the day it was last reviewed.

That is the whole method. It is not clever, it is just written down, which is more than most pages about this game can say.
