A short confirmed list, and a lot of noise around it

GTA 6 Soundtrack and Radio Stations

Rockstar has never published a GTA 6 tracklist. What exists is music that played inside official videos, which is a narrow but reliable base: six songs from the two trailers, and around fourteen more that writers pulled out of the Extended Look on August 27, 2026. One radio station has evidence behind it, and that evidence is a logo on a shirt. Everything else you will read today comes from leaked clips. This page keeps those apart and grows as real information arrives.

What is confirmed, and what is not

Read this as the whole confirmed picture. It is smaller than most pages suggest.

The trailer songs

Music from GTA trailers has traditionally ended up on an in game station. That is a pattern, not a promise, but it is why these six get treated as the base layer of the soundtrack.

Trailer 1: Love Is A Long Road by Tom Petty

The 1989 track from Full Moon Fever scores the entire first trailer from December 2023. Petty's official site confirmed the placement and pointed out a Petty Forever sticker in the trailer that reuses the Full Moon Fever cover art. Petty was born in Florida, the state GTA 6 turns into Leonida.

Trailer 2: Hot Together by The Pointer Sisters

The 1986 song anchors Trailer 2, released on May 6, 2025. Like the Petty track before it, it set off one of the largest streaming jumps a catalog record has ever had from a game trailer.

Trailer 2: the radio snippets

Three further tracks play briefly on a car radio during the driving sequence. NME identifies them as Everybody Have Fun Tonight by Wang Chung, Child Support by Zenglen and Talkin To Myself Again by Tammy Wynette. Several trackers add Thunder Island by Jay Ferguson as a fourth snippet.

Then one video in August tripled the size of this list overnight.

What the Extended Look added

Rockstar's roughly 26 minute presentation on August 27, 2026 was gameplay rather than a cut trailer, which meant car radios running in the background for minutes at a time. Music writers had a tracklist out of it within hours.

Radio stations: V-Rock and a lot of silence

Rockstar has not named a single GTA 6 radio station in any announcement, press release or trailer. What exists instead is a picture. In footage on the official Grand Theft Auto VI website, Jason wears a shirt carrying an updated V-Rock logo, redrawn from the version the station had in Vice City and Vice City Stories.

That is why every list calls V-Rock confirmed and every careful list adds a footnote. A station logo placed on a character in official promotional material is a deliberate decision by an art team that does not misuse brand assets. It is still not a sentence from Rockstar saying the station is in the game.

The leaked lists, and why they are not on this page

Since the second half of August 2026 a stream of short gameplay clips has been posted by a leaker, and fans have assembled tracklists out of them that now circulate as fact.

The numbers move around. Reports have counted roughly 25, 30 and 32 songs across those clips, plus alleged text documents naming further artists that no footage backs up. Kotaku, which worked through the material carefully, counted around 30 songs and 14 station names and stated plainly that Rockstar has confirmed none of it.

We do not print titles from that material. Part of that is a legal question about stolen content. The larger part is that it is simply unreliable information. Licensed music is negotiated until late in development, tracks get dropped over rights, and leaked clips come from unfinished builds. A list that is eighty percent correct is worse than no list, because you cannot tell which fifth is wrong.

How GTA radio works, and when the full list arrives

The structure of a GTA soundtrack is stable enough that you can predict the shape of GTA 6 without knowing the contents.

GTA radio is not a score. It is real records, cleared song by song, sorted into stations by genre and stitched together with DJ links, station idents and fake adverts. You pick a station in the car, it keeps playing while you drive, and the mix of eras is the point. GTA 6 has a Vice City setting with heavy 1980s flavour, which is exactly why a Depeche Mode record and a Sexyy Red record can sit in the same presentation without clashing.

The list stays secret because every song is a separate licence with a publisher and a label, and those deals close late. Announcing a track before the paperwork is final creates a problem Rockstar has no reason to accept. On top of that, the tracklist is marketing, and it is worth more as a launch moment than as a summer press release.

The scale to expect

GTA 5 launched in September 2013 with 240 licensed songs across 15 music stations plus two talk stations. GTA 6 has a larger map and a far longer development, so the same order of magnitude is a reasonable assumption. A precise number is not available and anyone quoting one is quoting a leak.

Where the official list will land

Rockstar runs a verified Spotify account with dozens of public playlists, including station by station sets for GTA 5 and GTA Online. There is nothing for GTA 6 there yet. When the tracklist becomes public, that account is one of the places it shows up.

FAQ

What song is in the GTA 6 trailer?
Trailer 1 from December 2023 uses Love Is A Long Road by Tom Petty, a 1989 track from Full Moon Fever. Trailer 2 from May 6, 2025 is anchored by Hot Together by The Pointer Sisters from 1986, with three shorter radio snippets underneath it.
Which radio stations are confirmed in GTA 6?
None have been named by Rockstar. V-Rock is the only station with official evidence behind it, an updated logo on a shirt Jason wears in footage on the official Grand Theft Auto VI website. Every other station name in circulation comes from leaked clips.
Is there an official GTA 6 Spotify playlist?
Not yet. Rockstar has a verified Spotify account carrying station playlists for GTA 5 and GTA Online, and nothing for GTA 6. Playlists titled official GTA 6 soundtrack are made by users, and some of them borrow the Rockstar Games name in the display title, so check the account behind a playlist before you trust it.
How many songs will GTA 6 have?
Nobody outside Rockstar knows. For scale, GTA 5 shipped with 240 licensed songs across 15 music stations plus two talk stations in 2013. Any specific number you see quoted for GTA 6 today is drawn from leaks, not from Rockstar.
Is V-Rock coming back?
Probably, and probably is the honest word. The updated V-Rock logo appears on Jason's shirt in official material, which art teams do not do by accident. Rockstar has still never stated that the station is in the game.
When does the full tracklist come out?
There is no announced date. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the complete station lineup has historically become public around or after launch, once players can hear it themselves.
