The video and the timing
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look ran roughly 26 minutes and premiered on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET on August 27, 2026. It reached the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI site at 9 p.m. ET the same day, so Netflix subscribers saw it six hours early.
Extended gameplay and cutscenes rather than a cut trailer, captured entirely from in game footage on a PlayStation 5, according to Rockstar. It was the longest official look at the game to that point and the first major showing since Trailer 2 in May 2025.
It was a promotional partnership, not a platform deal. Take-Two tied the Extended Look directly to the launch, saying anticipation would grow further leading up to the November 19 release date. Nothing in that arrangement gives Netflix any role in the game itself.
