Why no cheat codes can exist yet
This is not caution on our part. It is how cheat codes work.

Cheat codes are inputs built into the shipped game. They become known one of two ways: Rockstar publishes them, or players and dataminers find them in the released build. Rockstar has published nothing, and the released build does not exist outside Rockstar yet.
By our own reading of those two facts, that leaves exactly zero legitimate paths to a working GTA 6 cheat code on August 28, 2026. Anyone claiming to have one is making it up.
The plain statement
The game does not release until November 19, 2026 and nobody outside Rockstar Games has played it. Anyone claiming to have working GTA 6 cheats before that date is making them up.
The invented pages have a consistent shape. Once you know it, they are obvious.
It asks you to download something. A real cheat code is typed on a controller or a phone in the game. It never involves a file.
It asks you to complete a survey, an offer, or a human verification step to unlock the codes. That is the payload, not a gate.
It calls itself a generator. There is nothing to generate. Codes are fixed strings in the game.
It asks for an account login, especially a Rockstar Social Club login. Documented phishing campaigns have used exactly this.
The codes are suspiciously familiar. Several published GTA 6 lists are lightly edited GTA 5 codes.
There is no date on the page saying when a code was last verified, and no statement of who verified it.
The last point is the one most people skip. A cheat list without a verification date is not a list, it is a claim. That applies to us too, which is why every entry on this page will carry one once the codes are real.
What a real Rockstar cheat looks like
Legitimate cheats are entered as a controller button combination or as a phone number inside the game. They never require a download and never require personal information.
What Rockstar's last two games did, and why it matters here
The shape of GTA 6's cheat system is unknown, but the two precedents are very different from each other, and that difference is the whole point.
GTA 5: enter and go
Cheats were controller button combinations or phone numbers dialled in the game. Available immediately, no unlocking required, and the same codes have been circulating for over a decade.
Cheats were partly tied to newspapers. Most codes could be entered at any point once you knew the phrase, but a few only worked after you had bought the newspaper that contained them, which turned part of the cheat list into a location list as well.
One thing is certain either way: the demand does not fade.
Why this question stays huge for years
GTA 5 came out in September 2013. A third-party analysis using Semrush data puts searches for GTA 5 cheats at roughly 246,000 per month in the United States alone, more than a decade after release. Cheat codes are not a launch-week topic, they are a permanent one.
That is also why the fake pages exist. The demand arrives years before the answer does, and somebody always fills the gap with invention.

Codes we have heard about but not verified are listed separately and clearly labelled unverified. They are never mixed into the confirmed list.
Codes that stop working after a patch stay on the page, marked with the date they were patched out, instead of quietly disappearing.
No downloads, no generators, no surveys, ever. If a code needs a file, it is not a cheat code.
Until November 19, the answer to the question at the top of this page stays no.

Are there GTA 6 cheat codes?

Is a GTA 6 cheat generator safe to use?
No. There is nothing to generate, so a generator is a wrapper around something else, usually a survey, a download, or a fake login page. Documented campaigns have used the GTA 6 name to install malware and steal credentials.
How were cheats entered in GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2?
